Weekly Unnatural Gas Price Change, August 12, 2011

According to the AAA Fuel Gauge Summary report for August 12, 2011, the national average price of regular gasoline decreased from $3.685 a week ago to $3.601. This is a decrease of $0.084 in 7 days.

The price of oil began increasing about a week ago.  The increase was from about $79.00 a barrel to about $85.00 a barrel.   This will soon show up in gasoline prices leveling out.

We are now in the period which, under current law, will determine the COLA amount for next year.

I will post the price of gasoline each Friday through the end of September.
